Anteater Shows Off Incredibly Long Tongue at the Cincinnati Zoo

A tamandua anteater at the Cincinnati Zoo in Cincinnati, Ohio, showed off her extraordinary long tongue while eating from a tube.

Footage shows Isla, a southern tamandua, using her tongue to lick out of a tube while standing upright.

According to the zoo, tamanduas are anteaters who use “their long snouts to sniff out ant, termite and bee colonies” and can eat up to 9,000 ants in one day.

Local news reported Isla had given birth to a baby tamandua in February. Credit: Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden via Storyful
