Parts Unknown has once again been nominated for six Emmy Awards. Following last year's six nominations and equal number of wins, episodes primarily from the 12th and final season of the late Anthony Bourdain's show are up for a new batch of Emmys, D’arcy Carden and Ken Jeong announced Tuesday.

The nominations span several categories:

  • Outstanding Cinematography for a Nonfiction Program (Season 11, Episode 8: Bhutan)

  • Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program (Season 12, Episode 7: Lower East Side)

  • Outstanding Informational Series Or Special

  • Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction Program (Season 12, Episode 5: Far West Texas)

  • Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Nonfiction Program (Season 12, Episode 1: Kenya)

  • Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program (Season 12, Episode 1: Kenya)

Most of the season 12 episodes were unfinished at the time of Anthony's death—only the Kenya episode has narration from Anthony. The rest of the episodes were completed by the Parts Unknown team, with a special episode dedicated to the chef and traveler's impact.

Last year, the show was nominated for awards in all of the same categories. Accepting the award for Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program on Anthony's behalf, producer Lydia Tenaglia said this:

Tony was nominated for this Emmy many times. But it had always eluded him, the one he had always coveted so it is with tremendous bittersweetness that I accept it on his behalf…his writing was always fiercely intelligent—very real, no bullsh*t.

The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards will take place September 22 and are set to air on Fox.
