Anti-government protests grow violent in Ecuador

"The cost of living is terrible. The basic goods aren't affordable, prices have rocketed," protester and neighborhoods association representative Jenny Zumba told Reuters.
Indigenous groups began on Monday (June 13) what they said will be an ongoing protest to demand President Lasso freeze the price of gasoline, declare a moratorium on small farmers' bank debts and limit oil and mining expansion in the country.
Community and student groups have also carried out protests against Lasso's policies in Quito.
