Anti-Lockdown Protesters Hurl Barricades at Police in Barcelona

Police clashed with protesters in the northeastern Spanish city of Barcelona when anti-lockdown demonstrations turned violent on October 30.

This footage, shot by photographer Victor Arias, shows people hurling barricades at riot police in the Catalonian capital’s Plaça Sant Jaume.

An estimated 1,500 people took part in the largely peaceful protests, which descended into violence after demonstrators threw the blockades at law enforcement, local media reported citing police.

The demonstrations were sparked by recent regional restrictions aimed at curbing a nationwide spike in coronavirus cases.
