A crowd of protesters, some of who were armed, gathered outside the Ohio State Capitol in Columbus to demonstrate against public health advice to wear face masks amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The crowd numbered in the hundreds and faced-off with some counter protesters, according to local media.
Ohio has no state-wide mask order in place, although some counties in the state, such as Franklin County, where Columbus is located, and six others, have mask orders in force.
There were 72,280 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state on July 17, according to health officials. Ohio recorded its highest daily new case load on the same day with 1,679 new cases. Credit: @OliveStonMata via Storyful
