AOC spars with GOP colleagues as impeachment tensions flare
Ocasio-Cortez asked why her Republican colleagues wanted to adjourn the hearing.
"We have an entire political party that's trying to get out of their job, adjourn this hearing and I just want to know what's the reason for such a disrespect for our process," she said. "Do we have a reason for why this hearing is trying to be adjourned?"
Her Republican colleague responded by saying, "We are running an impeachment hearing down in the basement of the Capitol."
He added that he wants to participate in the hearing but also wants to be in the SCIF, where President Donald Trump's top adviser on Ukraine is set to testify that he told a government lawyer about concerns that U.S. national security could be undermined after a phone call between Trump and Ukraine's president.
