Aon stockholders approve HQ move to London

CHICAGO (AP) — Stockholders of Aon Corp. voted overwhelmingly Friday to approve moving its corporate headquarters to London, the insurance brokerage said.

The company announced plans Jan. 13 to move its headquarters from Chicago to London to improve its access to emerging markets and increase its financial flexibility. The company already has a big presence in the United Kingdom.

Aon expects the move to formally take effect on about April 2.
