If you're at a Prada show, you're in big boys' school. Miuccia's signature of clean, cool, luxurious simplicity is well-coveted kit, and as such, commands not only attention of the industry at large, but that of Hollywood. That front row is the elite school over which moneyed parents claw one another's eyes out to grant their kids admission. And it's new head boy? A$AP Rocky. He's got the uniform to prove it.

For the SS20 womenswear show in Milan, Lord Flacko Jodye II's wore a tailored, navy short suit that combines the haute monde schoolboy with haute menswear proper.

Yes, it's a bold step from your two-piece. And yes, it's hardly conducive to the colder months. But providing you follow the school rules - a loose, but flattering fit, and shorts long enough so as not to earn a court summons - it's a pivot from the norm that braver guys can embrace.

Prada isn't alone, either. Thom Browne, long an advocate of country club threads and prep school sensibilities, is famed for a striped school uniform-inspired aesthetic. Ralph Lauren too has built an empire on the sort of New England Fulbright Scholar that summers in Montauk. And, if the short suit is too loud for your taste, there's a legion of brands that channel classical prep with ease (not to be confused with the brightly-coloured New Prep of Vampire Weekend): J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, Tommy Hilfiger et al.

Of course, all will glean a varying shade of Latin class hero. But look to A$AP's short suit, and you're well in the running for head boy too.
