CODY JACKSON: This is AP News Minute. President Donald Trump's push for $2,000 dollar COVID-19 relief checks all but died Wednesday. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell proposed an alternative approach of loading up the bill with other White House priorities that appear destined to fail.

The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, signed the post-Brexit deal trade with the European Union Wednesday. Britain's house of Commons voted to approve the deal, paving the way for an orderly break with the bloc that finally complete the UK's years long Brexit journey.

In Florida, hundreds of seniors are forming lines outside COVID-19 vaccination sites. Some are camping out overnight with lawn chairs and blankets to get vaccinated against the potentially deadly disease.

And scientists are searching for the origins of COVID-19 in caves around the world, from Thailand to Brazil. An AP investigation shows the Chinese government is strictly controlling all research into virus origins, while promoting fringe theories the pandemic originated elsewhere.
