DEREK KARIKARI: This is "AP News Minute." Protests erupted in over 60 Russian cities on Saturday to demand the release of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Police arrested more than 850 protesters, some of whom took to the streets in very cold temperatures.

Hundreds of people in cars drove through Rio de Janeiro on Saturday to demand the impeachment of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Similar protests took place in several major cities across the country.

In India, police used water cannon and tear gas to disperse a protest rally by India's main opposition Congress Party. Thousands of party supporters have gathered to demand the withdrawal of new agricultural laws that have caused a long-running farmers' dispute.

Larry King, whose interviews with world leaders, movie stars, and ordinary individuals helped define American conversation for half a century, died Saturday. He was 87.
