BEN THOMAS: This is AP News Minute. Florida hit a grim milestone Sunday. The state shattering the national record for largest single day increase in coronavirus cases. Over 15,000 new cases were reported in the state for a total of nearly 270,000 since the pandemic began.
At least 11 people were injured in an explosion and fire on board a ship at Naval Base San Diego. Aerial footage showed the smoke covered USS Bonhomme Richard and crews working quickly to extinguish the fire. Some 200 sailors and officers were on board. The cause is still under investigation.
Exit polls in Poland were too close to call Sunday as President Andrzej Duda and Challenger Rafal Trzaskowski came head to head in what's considered to be one of the most crucial elections in the country's three decades of democracy. Official results are not expected until Monday or Tuesday.
And the search for actress Naya Rivera continues in a Southern California lake. Officials said Sunday, the search will now expand to include nearby cabins. Ben Thomas, Associated Press with AP News Minute.
