- This is AP News Minute. Joe Biden on Sunday slammed President Donald Trump in leading Senate Republicans for trying to jam through a replacement for the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. He urged more senators to stand with a pair of GOP colleagues who oppose the election season rush.
Meanwhile, a key Republican senator, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, said that she opposes filling up Ginsburg's seat before the next president is elected. She's the second GOP senator to voice opposition to nominate someone before the 2020 election.
Tens of thousands of protesters marched through the Belarusian capital of Minsk on Sunday as the country's wave of protests entered its seventh week. The protesters called for the authoritarian president Alexander Lukashenko to resign.
A memorial for COVID-19 victims called the Infinity Memorial was erected Sunday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to pay tribute to those who died from coronavirus. The memorial, a long ribbon of undulating steel, stood at a cemetery where COVID-19 victims have been buried. It was designed by the Brazilian architect Crisa Santos.
