Apartment building catches fire in French Quarter
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Crews worked to put out a fire at an apartment building in the French Quarter on Thursday, Jan. 25.
New Orleans Fire Department Captain Edwin Holmes said the call came in around 5:45 a.m. about a fire at 1226 Chartres St.

The fire was at a ten-unit apartment building with only one occupied. Neighbors told fire crews that the property has been under renovations, but that they had been paused for a while.
According to Holmes, the building has a history of issues with vagrants.
No injuries were reported. The fire was put out around 8 a.m.
