A person rescued from a fire in a York County apartment complex Sunday morning is in critical condition, according to the York County Department of Fire and Life Safety.

Firefighters responded about 8 a.m. to a fire at the Grafton Station Apartments in the 200 block of Piccadilly Loop.

They found smoke and flames in a first floor unit and one person inside, the department said. That person was rescued from the apartment and taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center.

The fire was put out and did not spread to neighboring units, according to the department. Investigators are determining the cause of the blaze.
