APD investigating possible suicide at Downtown-area hotel

May 18—ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Detectives are investigating what they believe will be ruled a suicide Tuesday afternoon in a parking lot of a hotel near Downtown Albuquerque.

Gilbert Gallegos, an Albuquerque police spokesman, said the person died in the north parking lot of the Embassy Suites Hotel, near Lomas and Interstate 25.

"The death was initially thought to be suspicious, which prompted a homicide call-out," he said. "Detectives are reviewing surveillance video and interviewing the security guard who discovered the deceased individual."
