APD: Two people shot and killed Saturday in North Austin; suspect in custody

Austin police are investigating the fatal shooting of two people Saturday in North Austin.

At about 11:47 a.m. officers responded to the 2100 block of West Anderson Lane after multiple people called 911 reporting that two people had been shot in a parking lot, police spokesman Michael Bullock said.

When officers arrived, they found the two people shot in the parking lot near an apartment complex. Officers were informed that a suspect was in the area, Bullock said.

"Officers immediately began searching the area and did locate the suspect and were able to detain him without incident," Bullock said. "The two victims that were located have been pronounced deceased on scene. The suspect is in custody and being interviewed."

Information about the victims' identities was not immediately available.
