APD: Woman accused of stabbing man in northwest Austin arrested

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A woman who was accused of stabbing a man at a hotel in northwest Austin last week was arrested, the Austin Police Department said in a news release Wednesday.

Police also identified the victim as Robert StJohn, 54.

Around 5:04 p.m., officers responded to a check welfare call at the InTown Suites, located at 12989 U.S. Highway 183. A man was reported as unresponsive in a hotel room. When officers arrived at the room, they found the man, later identified as StJohn, with a stab wound, according to police.

Police conducting homicide investigation in northwest Austin

StJohn was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:17 p.m., according to APD.

After talking with witnesses and looking at surveillance footage, investigators found that StJohn associated with a woman named Indira Zink, 25. She was later identified as the person who stabbed StJohn, police said.

After a warrant was issued for Zink’s arrest, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force assisted police in finding and arresting her, the release said. Zink is being charged with first-degree felony murder, according to police.
