'Bachelorette' Alum J.P. Rosenbaum Released From Hospital After Rare Autoimmune Disorder Diagnosis
J.P. Rosenbaum is back at home following his Guillain-Barré syndrome diagnosis.
TheBachelorettealum offered fans an update on his health on his Instagram Story on Tuesday, days after his diagnosis with the rare autoimmune disorder.
"This morning was pretty brutal, I had some severe migraines -- I've never had a migraine before and these were just, I guess, incapacitating. I couldn't move, talk or anything, it was rough," J.P. shared.
"I haven’t had them since about 11 or 11:30 this morning, and I seem to be pretty stable," he continued. "So now, hopefully, I'm in the clear on those and I’m going to start physical therapy and occupational therapy in the next few days and start to recover."
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Guillain-Barré syndrome causes a person's immune system to damage their nerves, causing muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis.
"Things you do every day, like picking up this phone, or buttoning buttons, tying shoelaces, putting on deodorant, just can't do it," he previously described to his followers.
J.P.'s wife, Ashley, whom he married in 2012 after meeting on season seven of The Bachelorette, took to Instagram to thank fans for their support on Monday.
"Cherish all that you have every, single day. Thank you to everyone for prayers, helping with the kids and offering all your love and support. We are blessed to have amazing family and friends. Love you all and grateful to have so much good in our lives," she wrote.
