Being single over the holidays can be hard – just ask Mayim Bialik.

The “Big Bang Theory” star took to her website, Grok Nation, on Tuesday to open up about her recent breakup and why she’s feeling down these days.

In the deeply personal post – which the star admitted was making her question herself as she typed it – Bialik expressed what “losing love” has been like for her.

She previously revealed in a post after Thanksgiving that she ended her romance with her unnamed boyfriend. She’s been private about their relationship but has referenced him in various videos and posts on her lifestyle website.

“My love story is nothing particularly exceptional. I mean, he was — er, is. I was an exceptional iteration of myself with him. For five years in fact. And now it’s over,” she wrote. “If ever there were a story that should have ended not like this, I feel this might be it. But he has his own will and much as I wish I could control his will, I cannot. And so here we are.”

Bialik lamented that the holidays are the worst time for a breakup, and she even noted her ex may be reading her post and she wanted him to know how she was feeling.

"There is rarely good timing for a break up. But most certainly, the worst time is now. In case he is reading this, I’m just meh with this timing. Because say what you will, the holidays are a time to not be recently broken up,” she wrote.

She hinted that she expected them to take their relationship to next level this holiday season, writing, “And I would be lying if I said it didn’t enter my mind that this holiday season might hold a promise of a secure future for me.”

The orthodox Jewish actress indicated her faith is helping give her perspective.

“… I see this as an unfolding of my journey that only a Power greater than myself can know and understand,” she wrote.

The 43-year-old sitcom star then shared tips for her followers who may be going through something similar. She recommended exercising without your phone nearby, avoiding sad music, putting things in perspective and knowing your limits.

“As for me,” she wrote, “I’ve got a half bottle of Manischewitz, four cats, and a wicked puzzle waiting for me. And for now, I am grateful in my tears and in my sadness for small blessings. They abound even now.”

Last month, Bialik took to her blog to let fans know she’d spent Thanksgiving with her ex-husband Michael Stone and girlfriend – plus the girlfriend’s family.

Bialik and Stone share two sons.
