'Captain Marvel' and Netflix's 'After Life' highlight the week in entertainment

Tune in: Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New York City” is back for an 11th season Wednesday, at 9 EST/PST. Returning for the season are Bethenny Frankel, Dorinda Medley, Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and Tinsley Mortimer. Construction company owner Barbara Kavovit, a good friend of Luann’s, joins the cast.

MUSIC

Listen: Dido’s latest album “Still on My Mind” is out Friday. The teaser single, “Hurricanes,” was released last November and the official lead single, “Give You Up,” was out in January. The singer is set to perform this spring; her first U.S. date is June 13 in Chicago.

View: “Green Book” is out Tuesday. The film follows the real-life journey of Italian-American Frank Vallelonga (Viggo Mortensen) and renowned African-American musician Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali) across the South in 1962. USA TODAY’s Brian Truitt said the film, (★★★½ out of four) “offers a salve for divisiveness, an abundance of empathy and inspiration for change.”

STREAMING

Watch: Netflix’s “After Life” debuts Friday. Ricky Gervais stars as Tony, whose seemingly perfect life changes when his wife, Lisa, dies. According to Netflix, “After contemplating taking his own life, he decides instead to live long enough to punish the world by saying and doing whatever he likes from now on.”

FILM

Go to: “Captain Marvel” is out Friday. Starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, who becomes the superhero Captain Marvel and is caught in a war between two alien worlds. The film also stars Gemma Chan, Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law and Djimon Hounsou.
