'Game of Thrones' cast sends video greetings to dying fan who wanted to see Episode 3

What do we say to the god of death?

For one 88-year-old "Game of Thrones" fan and Rhode Island hospice patient, the answer was, "Not until Season 8 is over – or, at the very least, not until I've seen the Battle of Winterfell."

Claire Walton, a patient at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, let it be known she wanted to see Episode 3, titled "The Long Night," so she could find out how Team Living fared against the Night King and the Army of the Dead.

Her caregivers, who knew she had once hoped to meet the cast of the HBO series, set out to make both wishes come true. They collected personal videos from a number of actors, including Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth, in a video posted to the hospice center's Facebook account.

"How are you doing Claire? It's Liam here," Cunningham said. "I hope you're feeling up. to watching the battle with us tonight. I wish you the very best. I hope your days are not bad and I hope you can manage."

She also got a shout-out from Miltos Yerolemou, whose character Syrio Forel taught Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) the fundamentals of sword fighting and died defending her in Season 1.

"I know you can't be here today, but I just wanted to say hello, and that you are with us in spirit and that we're thinking of you and sending you all our love," Yerolemou said. "I hope this message brings a smile to your face."

She also heard from a former brother of the Night's Watch: Josef Altin, whose character Pyp died defending Castle Black from the Wildlings in Season 3

"Enjoy this Sunday," he said. "It's going. down!"

HopeHealth told The Providence Journal that Walton died the day after the show aired.

"Thank you for all your help with getting these videos!" the staff wrote on Facebook. "They put such a smile on Claire’s face.”
