'Skibidi': Why You Can't Help but Dance to the Insanely Catchy Song From Russian Band Little Big

"Skibidi" — it's a word you can barely pronounce, but the viral hit from Russian band Little Big will certainly have you dancing.

Little Big's video for "Skibidi" was published on YouTube on Oct. 5 and it already has more than 28 million views. With a thumping beat and super catchy moves that involve punching across the body, you can't help but bop along.

InsideEdition.com spoke to Tessa Lena, a Russian-born musician living in New York, to get her take on what makes the video so unique.

"It’s a really hilarious video that takes absurdity to 11, and it’s making a dance into a militarized procedure," Lena said. "It is so strange that people really laugh at it."

The name of the song reflects that absurdity, she added. "Skibidi in Russian means absolutely nothing. Meaning, it doesn’t mean anything at all," Lena said.

Overall, Lena sees the video as a masterful satire.

"It’s about the juxtaposition of gloom and art and absurd humor because as you can see, the scenery is gloomy, the colors are gloomy, the faces are long faces with no smiles on them and they’re doing this crazy art," she said.

"And it’s hilarious," Lena added. "That is what my people do."
