You've Never Seen Trump Happier Than When He's Sparing The Life Of A Turkey

In one of the White House's stranger annual traditions, Donald Trump yesterday pardoned a turkey to save it from ending up next to a plate of yams on a Thanksgiving table.

What was truly out of the ordinary, however, was the rare look of pure, unbridled joy on the face of the president as he sealed the animal's fate.

"That turkey is so lucky. I've never seen such a beautiful turkey," Trump said of Peas, the golden ticket winning turkey who was presented to a crowd in the Rose Garden.

Of course, Trump used the opportunity to throw a few jibes at the Democrats saying that "unfortunately Carrots refused to concede and demanded a recount" and claiming he had warned the turkeys that "House Democrats are likely to issue them both subpoenas".

Nevertheless, his expression of sheer joy was a stark contrast to almost every other point in his presidency, perhaps showing that what really makes Donald smile is being in control of whether something lives or dies.
