Applause: Canton Council gives thanks for community event effort

Canton City Council would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers, city employees, elected officials and our local businesses for making the Canton Helping Canton picnic on Sept. 17, 2022, a huge success. Their support and generosity is greatly appreciated.

We again served a great picnic meal, and fun was had by all, thanks to the generous donations from the following businesses and friends − DJ Matt Bailey, Sugardale/Fresh Mark, Canton Fire Department, Stark County District Library Bookmobile, Gabe’s Meat & Deli, Mary Ann Donuts, Johnnie’s Bakery, Arrowhead Orchards, Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 94, Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, International Brotherhood of Electric Workers Local Union 540, Canton Hotel & Restaurant Supply, Canton South Dental Group, Chips Enterprises, Frito Lay, Sand Rock Mineral Water, Superior Dairy, Stark County Prosecutor’s Office, Smart Care Connections, Stark County Minority Business Association, Greater Stark County Urban League, Sisters of Soul Line Dancer Earnestine Reed, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Canton Chair Rental, DoubleTree by Hilton, United Site Services, Strasburg Meats, U-Haul Rt. 62, Enrichment Drumline, the Patina Art Center and Ironworkers Local 550.

A special thank you to Giant Eagle Community Relations Senior Administrator Melinda Gaus and Gordon Hathaway, who went above and beyond for Canton Helping Canton. Giant Eagle’s generous outpouring of donations and support enabled every participant to take home at least three bag of groceries!
