Apple's new iPhone could have a huge design change, latest leak suggests
Leaked computer renders and ‘dummy’ models of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 suggest that a big design change could be on the way.
The new flagship could have flat, squared-off edges, similar to devices such as the iPhone 5S, a look that Apple retired in 2013.
The images were leaked by Twitter user @Jin_Store, whose profile claims he is an Australian reseller of Apple products.

In the run-up to the launch of new Apple devices, ‘dummy’ phones are commonly circulated among manufacturers of accessories, so that cases fit.

The user wrote: “The sides are squared-off, just like the rumoured iPhone 12.”
In the Twitter post he also shared computer rendered images of the new phone with a lightning port; some speculation had suggested that the device might switch to the widely used USB-C port.
Apple’s latest fourth-generation iPad Pro, released in March, had squared-off edges.

The tech giant has delayed mass production of new iPhone handsets, but is still bringing out four new models this year, according to supply chain sources.
A report by the Wall Street Journal suggested that Apple will release four new iPhones this year, armed with 5G connectivity for a faster internet.
The report said Apple will slash the number of handsets that it plans to make in the second half of 2020 by as much as 20%.
The delay comes in the wake of coronavirus-related shutdowns in Apple factories, the WSJ reported.
The Nikkei had reported in late March that Apple was preparing to possibly delay the launch of its first 5G iPhones.
Apple’s biggest iPhone plant was hit by restrictions placed on Chinese workers due to the coronavirus outbreak earlier this year.
