Apple sued by women who say AirTag helps stalkers
STORY: Apple has been sued by two women
who say its AirTags have made it easier
for former partners and stalkers to track down victims
The devices are meant to be attached
to keys, wallets or backpacks
but privacy experts and police say some have
used them for criminal or malicious purposes
In the proposed class action, the women called AirTags
"the weapon of choice of stalkers and abusers"
and say it has been linked to murders this year
of women from Akron, Ohio and Indianapolis
Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment
but has acknowledged "bad actors" have tried misusing AirTags
