Apple TV+ Godzilla series gets first look with Kurt Russell

The title and first look images for the new Apple TV+ Godzilla series starring Kurt Russell is here.
Titled Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, the show is a 10 episode, multi-generational saga which follows two siblings as they discover their family's connection to a secretive organisation known as Monarch.
Following the events of 2021's Godzilla vs. Kong, where the world discovered the terrifying truth about the existence of monsters after the complete destruction of San Francisco at the hands of Godzilla and the Titans, the siblings are led to army officer Lee Shaw (Russell).
The show takes place in both the 1950s and half a century later in the present day, where Monarch are threatened by what Shaw knows.

The official synopsis for the series adds that the saga, which spans three generations, will reveal "buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives."
In the first look images, we see Russell as Shaw as well as his son Wyatt Russell (Falcon and the Winter Soldier) who plays the younger version of the Army officer. Anna Sawai can also be seen in character, stood in the rain as she stares up at the legendary beast.
Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski complete the cast.

Leading the series are Chris Black (Severance, Star Trek: Enterprise) and Matt Fraction (Hawkeye), while WandaVision's Matt Shakman has also directed the first two episodes as well as executive producing.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is the latest offering in Legendary's MonsterVerse franchise, following Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Godzilla vs. Kong.
