Town of Apple Valley officials announced that speed limit updates from its Traffic Information Program would be implemented sometime this spring on 18 roadways.

The speed limit adjustments will come from updated engineering and traffic surveys conducted by the town’s traffic consultant in 2022 on 52 street segments within the town limits.

The consultant’s recommendation includes maintaining the current speed limit for 34 street segments, decreasing the speed limit by 5 mph for 13 segments, and adding posted speed limits to five streets.

Some of the roadway segments where current speed limits will be reduced include:

  • Jess Ranch Parkway from 35 to 30 mph, from Town Center Drive to Bear Valley Road.

  • Bear Valley Road from 55 to 50 mph, from Mohawk Road to Quinnault Road.

  • Apple Valley Road from 50 to 45 mph, from Town Center Drive to Pimlico Road.

  • Central Road from 55 to 50 mph, from Nisqually Road to Highway 18.

  • Rincon Road from 45 to 40 mph, from Sitting Bull Road to Rancherias Road.

Roadway segments where speed limits will be posted include:

  • Nisqually Road, 45 mph, from Navajo Road to Central Road.

  • Ottawa Road, 45 mph, from Central Road to Johnson Roads.

  • South Road, 50 mph, from Central Road to Joshua Road.

  • Sandia Road, 40 mph, from Kiowa Road to Mohawk Road, and Mohawk to Navajo roads.
