Here are the applicants for two of Nueces County's seats on the port commission

The Port of Corpus Christi Commission should get at least one new member soon. Nueces County Commissioners are anticipated to select two representatives Wednesday, and one of those seats is vacant.

Longtime Commissioner Charlie Zahn has termed out, after serving the maximum four terms. Each term is for three years.

A second seat held on the commission by Nueces County representative Bryan Gulley will be up for consideration.

Gulley is seeking reappointment.

There are about a dozen applicants for the position, with selection historically being highly competitive for a high-profile board responsible for shaping policies and signing off on budgets for the Port of Corpus Christi.

Commissioners do not earn pay.

The board is comprised of seven members – three representing the city of Corpus Christi, three representing Nueces County, and one representing San Patricio County.
