Application period open to run for Pflugerville school board
The application filing period for a place on the Pflugerville school district's Board of Trustees for the May 4 election opened Wednesday. The deadline to file is Feb. 17.
Three of the seven places are up for election: the Place 5 seat held by Brian Allen; the Place 6 seat held by Cindy Gee; and the Place 7 seat held by Jean Mayer.
Allen has confirmed that he will be seeking re-election.
To be eligible to run for the board, a candidate must be a registered voter who has lived in the district for at least six months before the deadline. Trustees serve at large for a three-year term. They serve more than 26,000 students on 34 campuses.
Applications can be filled in person or by mail to the Pflugerville school district's Administration Bldg., Attn: Community Relations Dept., 1401 W. Pecan St., Pflugerville, TX 78660.
