Apply now for The Kansas City Star’s spring and summer newsroom internships

The Kansas City Star is looking for journalism interns for spring and summer.

The program consists of paid positions that cover a variety of responsibilities, including breaking news, legislative reporting, sports, photography, audience engagement and multiplatform editing.

Many current Star newsroom staff members started at the company as interns. The Star is proud to continue the tradition by welcoming more top students this year.

Candidates should be college juniors, seniors or recent graduates. They should be able to spot a good story and report it using multiple formats. Social media and video skills are a plus.

Those interested can apply online. Internships across the McClatchy company are also available. Apply by Oct. 31 for first consideration.

The audience engagement and multiplatform editing interns will be selected through the Dow Jones News Fund internship program, which has a separate application process.
