It's time to bring out the business plans, refine the art of the cliché, and throw people under the bus, because The Apprentice's return is just around the corner.

Yes, Lord Sugar will see us now – and by 'now', we of course mean October.

Both Lord Sugar and The Apprentice confirmed the news on Twitter earlier today (September 19), announcing that the BBC's legendary cringe-inducing show will be back on our screens on Wednesday, October 2 at 9pm.

Our first glimpse of The Apprentice was revealed last week, with a trailer for the brand new series – its 15th series, no less – revealing not only a double firing but a laboured pop culture reference, too.

The clip, which didn't actually feature this year's set of budding entrepreneurs, teased Lord Sugar, Karren Brady, and Claude Littner turning down an idea for a luxury musical festival despite its promise of the best DJs, skimpy suits, and models.

"No, no, no, this is nonsense," Shugs tells the two candidates for reasons we're unclear of. "Fired Festival, you're fired. Total rubbish!"

In a less bizarre update, it was recently confirmed that Rhod Gilbert will be replaced by fellow comedian Tom Allen when The Apprentice's companion show, You're Fired, returns.

"I'm excited and humbled to be joining this wonderful, much-loved show as host," Tom said in a statement last month.

"I'm looking forward to analysing, satirising and, dare I say, celebrating the many 'interesting' choices the candidates make during their Apprentice journey whilst gaining valuable insight into the business world."

Did he thank Lord Sugar for the opportunity, though?

The Apprentice will return to BBC One next month.
