Apprenticeship info offered Oct. 4 at Debs Museum

Sep. 20—Representatives from seven local unions will discuss their apprenticeship programs offering paid education and training for high-demand building trades jobs at an Apprenticeship Fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Eugene V. Debs Museum, 451 N. Eighth St, Terre Haute.

Wabash Valley students are invited to the event, which is also co-sponsored by the Greater Terre Haute Branch of NAACP. Hourly presentations will begin at 10 a.m.

Representatives from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 725, Sheet Metal Workers Local 20, Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 157, Iron Workers Local 22, Roofers Local 150, Operating Engineers Local 841, and Laborers International Union Local 204 will provide information about their apprenticeship programs and be on hand to answer questions.

Participating educational institutions include Indiana State University, Ivy Tech Community College, and Vigo County schools.
