New apps in London look to chip away at Uber's demand

Just two days ago Uber lost its license to operate in London — and its rivals are already gearing up to overtake the ride sharing app. A newcomer ride app in London, Bolt, claims that Uber’s exit from London has already brought in thousands of new sign-ups to its app. It says it has 30 thousand drivers since launching in June. And French ride hailing app Kapten said “London needs ride-hailing, but we don’t need Uber.” The company says it has 16 thousand drivers. Uber has been a primary player in London’s ride sharing market — with 45 thousand drivers and 3.5 million passengers.
