APS adds first ever book vending machine

Albuquerque public schools is offering books in a unique way. The district just unveiled the state's first ever book vending machine. The inchy's bookworm machine at governor bent elementary school will let students select free books with gold coins for reading. The goal is to get more noses in books. “Letting them know that having a book in a home their own book is valuable and letting them know that the book can take you anywhere in the world and so it's to promote literacy but also let our students know that they earned the book” said Principal Jonathan Saiz. for students to get a gold coin, they need to read 20 minutes a night and can cash out and get a book at 400 minutes.
