Archie Bradley geeks out over two Hall of Famers on 'Old Baseball Cards'
Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Archie Bradley is one of the best personalities in baseball these days. He’s young, fun, funny and he’s got a great beard.
When we talk about how baseball players need to show more of their personalities, he’s a great example of a player who does — and the D-backs fans in Arizona are a great example of a fanbase that’s reacted to it. They’ve embraced him as a face-of-the-franchise player, which isn’t something you generally see from a reliever.
You can get an up-close look at Bradley on this week’s all-new episode of “Old Baseball Cards,” Yahoo Sports’ baseball-card driven trip down memory lane. Bradley joins us to open a back of 2018 Topps Archives (which have current and old players) plus a pack of 1999 Fleer Ultra.
He finds two Hall of Famers he adored as a kid — John Smoltz and Vlad Guerrero. We marvel at a young David Ortiz. We also talk about Bob Gibson and one current Mets player Bradley says will never take him deep again.

It all started with cards my grandma kept hoping they’d be worth a bunch of money one day. They’re not, so we open them up with baseball people and look for great stories and reactions.
