From the archive: Santa Claus checks his busy mailbox

Daily Times-Call, Longmont, Colo.

Dec. 11—From the Times-Call photo archive via Longmont Museum: "A fat, jolly old gentleman named St. Nick is collecting his mail daily at a special mailbox in front of the Daily Times-Call at 717 Fourth Avenue. 'I know a lot of boys and girls out there would like to tell me what they want for Christmas,' he said this morning. 'I hope all of them will write to me.' The letters to Santa will be published periodically in the newspaper." Originally published Dec. 10, 1983.
