ARCHIVES: FDR’s presidential yacht tied up at Stockton harbor

In 1980, Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s 165-foot yacht, the Potomac, was tied up for several years at the Stockton yacht harbor.

Other than FDR, the Potomac was owned at different times by several famous people including Danny Thomas and Elvis Presley.

When it was in Roosevelt’s possession, it was the site of several important moments, including the meeting with Winston Churchill when they mapped out the invasion of Europe during WWII.
