Arctic Air Brings Frost Inside Home in Central Maine

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported wind chills as cold as -60 degrees Fahrenheit for parts of Maine on Friday, February 3, as an arctic blast brought frigid temperatures to the northeastern United States.

Video filmed by Twitter user Brittany Cote shows her scratching ice and frost on the windows inside her home in Winslow.

“In case anyone is wondering how cold it is here in Maine…”, Cote tweeted.

The governor of Maine, Janet Mills, warned residents to stay prepared and safe.

“Frostbite and hypothermia are real risks when temperatures are this extreme,” Nirav D. Shah, the director of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said in a statement from the Governor’s office.
