FOND DU LAC – Four members of Fond du Lac School District administration and staff resigned last month, prompting reshuffling of leadership in district schools.

The Fond du Lac School District Board met Tuesday in closed session to discuss the parting of Evans Elementary School Principal Amy Retter, District Coordinator of Communications Nicole Noonan, Human Resources Director Stacey Bramstedt and Pupil Services Director Katie Moder.

Superintendent Jeffrey Fleig told The Reporter the resignations were unrelated and came on different days throughout August as each pursued new opportunities, from accepting CESA 6 and other administration roles to furthering their own education.

In a Tuesday letter to district staff, Fleig also said the board approved five new administrators.

Former Wauwatosa School District Supervisor of Human Resources Dean Nemoir will come out of retirement for the school year to serve as Fond du Lac's director of human resources, with Marisa Lombardo stepping into the role next school year.

Retired La Crosse principal Troy McDonald — who also has experience as assistant principal at Fond du Lac High School — will come on as Fond du Lac's director of pupil services while the district finds someone to permanently fill the role starting next fall.

Bob Lloyd, retired superintendent of Lomira School District, will be assistant principal at Sabish Middle School. Theisen Middle School Assistant Principal Nick Shultis will transfer to serve as principal of Evans Elementary School, while Allison Birschbach will move from a teacher on special assignment at Chegwin Elementary School to assistant principal at Theisen. All three are interim positions.

The district will look to hire for these roles permanently starting in 2023.
