Area athletes win 22 events in Beresford/Alcester-Hudson track and field meet

BERESFORD — Athletes from Sioux Valley, Deubrook Area, Hamlin and Castlewood produced 22 first-place finishes Monday in the Bersford/Alcester-Hudson Track and Field meet.

Tri-State and Florence-Henry also competed in the 14-team meet.

Gracelyn Leiseth of Hamlin (shot put, 44-8.25 and discus, 147-3.5), Landree Wilson of Sioux Valley (100-meter dash, 12.9 seconds and 200 dash, 26.33) and Adison Renkly of Sioux Valley (100 hurdles, 16.8 and triple jump, 32-6.5) each won two individual events in the girls division. Kami Wadsworth of Hamlin (javelin, 114-5), Marissa Bawdon of Hamlin (long jump, 16-1) and Isabelle Bloker of Sioux Valley (800 run, 2:29,.06) also won events.

Deubrook Area won the 800 (1:53.96), 1,600 (4:19.11) and 3,200 (10:35.38) relays. Kylee Johnson ran on all three relays; Brooke Koppatschek, Miranda Moravetz and Delaney Pedersen each two; and Kadence Bowne, Makenna Ekern and Nora Olsen each one.

Area event winners in the boys division included Donovan Rose of Sioux Valley (110 hurdles, 16.14), Cristhian Rodriguez of Hamlin (shot put, 44-4), Kaden St. Pierre of Hamlin (discus, 138-1); Carson Kirwan of Castlewood (high jump, 6-0) and Braden Danzeisen of Sioux Valley (triple jump, 38-10).

Hamlin's Rylan Thue, Luke Fraser, Zac VanMeeteren and Gavin Prouty won the 400 (44.92) and 800 relay (1:33.87) relays.

Deubook Area won the 1,600 (3:31.29) and medley (3:46.63) relays with Gavin Landmark, Landen Johnson, J.P. Rogness and Treven Grimsrud running on both relays.

Sioux Valley won the 3,200 relay (8:40.62) with runners Brock Christopherson, Skylar Schwab, Mitchell Guthmiller and Carson Wosje.
