Area band gets star on Walk of Fame

Sep. 3—Many area residents of Roosevelt and Curry counties may not know that one of the most popular Norteño bands in the American southwest and northern Mexico calls Roosevelt County home.

Members of Los Huracanes del Norte' live around Midway and Elida according to Elida schools third grade teacher Dana Cook.

"They're a very humble family," Cook said.

The band has released over 900 songs.

Members of the band and their families are reportedly excited about making a trip to Hollywood, Ca. this week for a ceremony celebrating the band's 50th Anniversary and honoring the band with star number 2,732 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The event is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
