Apr. 11—CASTLEWOOD — Mason Schelske was in a groove for Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central.

Schelske struck out 16 batters and surrendered two walks in a complete-game no-hitter as the Blackhawks blanked Castlewood 7-0 Saturday in prep baseball action.

WWSSC (1-3) scored four runs in the fourth inning, including a two-run double by Quentin Christensen, who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Carson Hainy, Draven Thompson and Blake Miller also had RBIs.

The Blackhawks face Dell Rapids and Baltic on April 17 in Madison.

Howard 7, Redfield Area 3

CANOVA — Redfield Area scored three runs in the top of the first, but Howard rallied with a four-run fourth inning to secure the win Sunday.

Colby Claussen and Jace Sifore both had two-run singles in the inning to propel the Tigers, which tallied four hits. Luke Koepsell and Jaxon Kampshoff both added RBis in the game.

Jack Neises and Claussen both tossed three innings, while Koepsell added one inning of relief. The trio combined to allow three earned runs on five hits, while striking out nine batters.

Howard (2-0) hosts Oldham/Ramona-Rutland/Arlington April 16 in Canova.

Dakota Valley 5, Wagner 3

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Jake Pruchniak struck out 10 Wagner batters and did not allow an earned run as Dakota Valley remained unbeaten Sunday.

Paul Bruns went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Isaac Bruns and Ben Niemeyer also drove in a run apiece for the Panthers, who improved to 6-0.

Wagner's Dustin Honomichl was able to put the Red Raiders on the board with an RBI double off Pruchniak after an error with two outs kept the fifth inning alive. It was one of two hits allowed by Pruchniak in five frames. Simon Freier also had a lead-off triple in the seventh, but could not score.

Honomichl and Nolan Dvorak both threw three innings for Wagner, allowing two earned runs on five hits and four walks, striking out seven.

Dakota Valley hosts Vermillion Tuesday in North Sioux City.

Dakota Valley 15, Scotland/Menno 5

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley scored at least four runs in three consecutive innings to scoot past Scotland/Menno on Saturday.

The Panthers jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings, but the Trappers rebounded to score five runs in the top of the third. Tyrus Bietz plated three with a triple and Dawson Bietz knocked in another with a single.

Dakota Valley would come back with five runs of its own in the bottom of the third, however, and then tacked on four more in the fourth.

Dawson Bietz was 2-for-3, while Austin Pillsbury was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Isaac Bruns, Hunter Beving and Jake Prunchniak each drove in two runs for the Panthers, who racked up 15 hits.

Scotland/Menno (0-4) host Elk Point-Jefferson on April 18.

Tea Area 8, McCook 4

SALEM — Tea Area's four-run fifth inning sank McCook on Saturday.

Trailing 3-0, the Burros scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth, capped by a two-run single by Kyle Schoon. But the Titans came back with four runs on two hits and three walks.

Jacob Wagner and Jackson Remmers also added RBIs for McCook (0-1), while the combination of Braeden Kerkhove, Bobby Koepsell and Gavin Gordon allowed seven earned runs on nine hits and five walks, while striking out four.

The Burros play Tri-Valley April 18 in Colton.

Winner/Colome 15, Gregory County 0

WINNER — Evan Farner allowed two hits and struck out four as Winner/Colome blanked Gregory County Friday.

Seven different Royals drove in runs, led by Aaron Gilchrist's 4-for-4, one-RBI performance. Aiden Barfuss knocked in a pair of runs, while Farner, Charley Pravecek, Zach Bohnet, Adam Bohnet and Jesse Colson each had RBIs.

Rylan Peck and Ben Witt combined to allow 13 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out seven for Gregory County.

Winner/Colome (2-1) hosted Lead-Deadwood Sunday. Gregory County (0-2) hosted Bennett County Sunday.
