GLEN ROSE 49, GRAHAM 14

GLEN ROSE – Hudson White rushed for five TDs and threw for two more, having a hand in all seven of Glen Rose’s trips into the end zone in a 49-14 thrashing of Graham on Friday at Tiger Stadium. Glen Rose (3-0) remains undefeated on the season with Graham falling to 1-2.

White had three short rushing touchdowns in the first half, spotting the Tigers a 21-7 halftime lead. He added two more rushing scores sandwiched around a 55-yard TD pass to Ian Bailey in the third quarter. White added a short TD pass in the fourth quarter for good measure.

White only completed 7 of 18 passes but made it count for 195 yards. He also rushed for a team-high 101 yards on 15 carries.

Ty Thrompson threw for both of Graham’s touchdowns, finishing 12 of 19 for 113 yards.

The Steers host rival Iowa Park (1-2) next week.

HENRIETTA 29, BOWIE 26

HENRIETTA – Another Bowie comeback attempt fell short, and Henrietta held on to beat the rival Jackrabbits, 29-26, Friday at Bearcat Stadium. It’s the second straight week the Jackrabbits (0-3) mounted a second-half rally, scoring 20 unanswered points but unable to find the go-ahead score.

Henrietta (3-0) mounted a 29-6 lead with 5:17 left in the third quarter with four different players finding the end zone. The Bearcats were held to 278 total yards compared to 358 for Bowie.

The Rabbits’ rally started with a 45-yard touchdown pass from Zach Harris to AJ Whatley with 3:12 left in the third quarter. It was the second time Harris and Whatley had connected for a TD.

Brody Armstrong took over at quarterback in the fourth quarter, scoring on a 24-yard run and throwing a 27-yard TD pass to Matthew McCarty.

Armstrong completed 8 of 14 passes for 186 yards, an interception and TD. Harris, who started the game since Armstrong had to sit out three quarters after being kicked out of last week’s 63-62 loss to Bridgeport, connected on 9 of 20 passes for 120 yards and two TDs. Armstrong also rushed for 44 yards on five carries.

Henrietta hopes to stay undefeated with a trip to Archer City, while Bowie hosts Burkburnett next week.

JACKSBORO 48, PEASTER 30

JACKSBORO – Lando Belcher threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers, leading Jacksboro to a 48-30 victory against Peaster on Friday at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers (2-1) have won two straight after opening the season with a loss to undefeated Breckenridge. Peaster falls to 1-2.

Belcher completed 16 of 25 passes for 206 yards and four TDs. He also rushed for 102 yards and a score on 14 carries. Baylor Laake led the Tigers in rushing with 125 yards and two TDs on 11 carries. Kaleem Howard was Belcher’s top target, catching three passes for 86 yards, including a 71-yard touchdown.

Peaster had 451 yards of offense but struggled to finish drives in the second half. The Greyhounds led the Tigers, 17-7, in the second quarter.

Jacksboro tries to keep its win streak rolling with a visit to Cisco next week.

CLASS 2A

NOCONA 58, ELECTRA 7

ELECTRA – Nocona racked up 371 rushing yards in a 58-7 pounding of Electra on Friday at Tiger Stadium. The Indians (3-0) remain undefeated while Electra (0-3) continues searching for its first win.

Johnathan Stone led the Indians’ ground attack, rushing for 105 yards, including an 89-yard TD, on eight carries. Quarterback Brady McCasland rushed for 94 yards on nine carries.

The Indians finished with 495 total yards with McCasland completing 8 fo 13 passes for 124 yards, two TDs and two interceptions.

Electra was held to 156 total yards, including 121 rushing. Logan Davis led the Tigers with 69 yards on 14 carries, scoring the team’s lone TD on a 39-yard run in the third quarter.

Nocona tries to stay unbeaten against Chico while Electra visits Era next week.

HASKELL – Gatlin Guy and Jovani Rockmore combined for five rushing touchdowns, and Olney ran away from Haskell, 34-7, Friday at Indian Field. The Cubs (3-0) continue their impressive start to the season, having outscored opponents 108-13. Haskell drops to 1-2.

Guy did the damage early, scoring the Cubs’ first two TDs on runs of 40 and 2 yards, respectively. He finished with a game-high 152 rushing yards on 21 carries, while also completing his two pass attempts for 29 yards.

Rockmore was the Cubs’ closer, putting their final three scores on the board with runs of 2, 27 and 1 yards. He had 97 rushing on 18 carries. The Cubs had 393 rushing yards on 62 carries for the game.

Olney tries to remain undefeated with a visit to Weatherford Trinity next week.

MILLSAP – Archer City tasted defeat for the first time this season in a 39-21 loss to Millsap on Friday at Bulldog Stadium.

Archer City held a 15-14 advantage at halftime but was limited to one touchdown in the second half. The Wildcats (2-1) were held to just 181 yards of offense but didn’t turn the ball over.

Elijah Jackson saw his most extended time at quarterback this season, completing 3 of 5 passes for 91 yards and a TD. Freshman Joe Castles complete 6 of 17 passes for 47 yards and a score.

Chance Warren was the top receiver, catching three passes for 63 yards and a TD. Jre Donnell led the Wildcats in rushing with 34 yards on six carries.

Archer City hopes to rebound next week when it hosts Henrietta.

MUENSTER 31, WINDTHORST 13

WINDTHORST – Muenster rushed for 364 yards and handed Windthorst a 31-13 loss Friday at Trojan Field. It’s the first win of the season for the sixth-ranked Hornets (1-2), while No. 7 Windthorst falls to 0-2.

While he didn’t find the end zone, Muenster quarterback Casen Carney had 119 yards rushing and passing for 238 total. Colton Deckard rushed for 117 yards and a TD on 15 carries.

Windthord finished with 305 yards with quarterback Logan Cope accounting for most of it. Cope rushed for 105 yards, including a 44-yard TD run, on 12 carries. He completed 10 of 27 passes for 164 yards, a TD and an interception.

Windthorst tries to earn its first win of the season when Wheeler visits Trojan Field next week.

ALBANY 27, SEYMOUR 13

SEYMOUR – Seymour gave the No. 1 Class 2A Division II team in the state a scare Friday night, but Albany prevailed with a 27-13 victory at Fair Park Stadium. Albany (3-0) remains undefeated, handing Seymour (2-1) its first loss.

The Panthers trailed just 14-13 following a 35-yard pass from Brayden Loyd to Keegan Gilbreath with 6:31 left in the third quarter. Albany led 20-13 heading into the third quarter, and a 65-yard TD pass from Lute Wheeler to Adam Hill midway through the fourth gave Albany the two-touchdown advantage.

Seymour finished with 361 total yards, including 255 passing. The Panthers continued to rotate Brayden Loyd and Keegan Gilbreath at quarterback. Loyd completed 14 of 26 passes for 153 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Gilbreath was 8 of 15 for 102 yards and a score. Gilbreath also caught four passes for a team-high 53 yards.

Albany got 218 total yards and three TDs from running back Adam Hill, including 163 rushing.

Seymour visits Quanah next week.

MAY 81, KNOX CITY 58

KNOX CITY – Bryson Callaway connected with Devin Guillory on four touchdown passes, but it wasn’t enough for Knox City to keep pace with No. 3 May in a 81-58 loss Friday at Greyhound Stadium. It’s the first loss of the season for Knox City (2-1) while May (3-0) remains undefeated.

Callaway had his best game of the season, completing 13 of 21 passes for 225 yards and four TDs. Guillory caught five passes for 148 yards and four TDs. The Greyhounds had 541 yards of offense, including 286 rushing. Caleb Arrieta led the Hounds with 134 yards and a TD on 12 carries. Guillory added two rushing TDs with 47 yards on seven carries.

But Knox City fell behind 28-16 after the first quarter and May pulled away in the second, taking a 66-38 lead into halftime.

May had 600 total yards with spreadback Luke McKenzie leading the way. McKenzie rushed for 155 yards and five TDs and threw for 210 yards and three scores.

Knox City takes another tough opponent next week, meeting No. 5 Rankin at a neutral site in Hermleigh. Rankin lost 59-58 to No. 1 Westbrook, the defending Class A Division I champions, Friday.
