AREA FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Vernon hands No. 6 Breckenridge first loss

DISTRICT 3-4A DIVISION II

SNYDER 35, GRAHAM 21

SNYDER – Shorthanded Graham struggled to move the ball Friday, allowing Snyder to pull ahead early and maintain that lead in the second half for a 35-21 victory in District 3-4A Division II action Friday at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers (3-5, 1-1) get their first district win, while Graham falls to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in district.

The Steers played the first half without six players, including starting running back Rylan Monsey and leading receiver Peyton Kinman, who were suspended for their part in a sideline-clearing fight with Hirschi last week.

Monsey and Kinman returned in the second half, with Monsey catching a 3-yard TD pass from quarterback Ty Thompson. But without all their weapons for a full game, the Steers were held to just 223 total yards.

Thompson completed 16 of 29 passes but for only 96 yards, two TDs and an interception.

Meanwhile, Snyder racked up 371 yards, including 251 passing. Easton Stewart completed 21 of 28 passes with five TDs. Four of those scoring passes went to Dyllan Angeley.

The Steers hope to rebound next week when Sweetwater visits, while Snyder comes to Memorial Stadium to play Hirschi. Hirschi will be without five players for at least the first half.
