Wayne Holmes Artist Exhibition, Thursday-Feb. 7, Wayne Center for the Arts, 237 S. Walnut St., Wooster. Wayne Center for the Arts. The yearly showcase aims to present the talents of artists within the Wayne and Holmes counties in the Gault and Looney galleries in the form of a curated exhibit, which includes judged and fan-voted awards.

Ashland Chautauqua book discussion, 7 p.m. Thursday, Virtual program will feature Jackie Cochran, a pilot, full of daring and always trying for a new record in flight in the mid-20th century. The book, "Jackie Cochran: Pilot in the Fastest Lane," is a biography written by Doris L. Rich. Chautauqua scholar Karen Vuranch will lead the discussion. Vuranch is a performer at Ashland Chautauqua’s summer events. She will portray Cochran in-person during the July event week of Ashland Chautauqua performances. Civil War Round Table, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wooster Branch of the Wayne County Public Library. Civil War Florida program focuses on Key West, Fort Zachery Taylor, Battle of Olustee, the Dry Tortugas, Fort Jefferson and more.

Brooks Curtis Memorial Polar Bear Jump, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, Caskey’s Campground, 1489 Fosnight Road, Orrville. Registration is available on the Orrville Area Boys & Girls Club website. The costs are $100 to jump and $150 not to jump. Food and beverages will be provided. Proceeds benefit the OABGC.
