The annual Apostolic Christian Village Golden Giving Benefit includes a barbecued chicken and rib dinner, silent auction and bake sale. "WALK in the WORDS" is the theme for this year's Art in the Park, sponsored by Simply Hand Made and the Fredericksburg Community Library. Art activities for all ages, using items and inspiration from nature. Free of charge. Look for the tents set up in the grassy area near the parking lot of Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church, across the street from Simply Hand Made. Touch-A-Truck event will be there.
Monster Fest, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Canton Downtown Double Tree by Hilton, 320 Market Ave. S.,Canton. Meet authors, researchers, investigators, filmmakers and podcasters who specialize in subjects such as Bigfoot, paranormal phenomena and UFOs. Monster Fest is presented by Small Town Monsters. Kingwood 5K Run and Walk, 9 a.m. Saturday, June 10, front of Kingwood Hall mansion in Mansfield. The chip-timed 5k will allow participants to enjoy a beautiful course within Kingwood’s gardens and along the B&O bike trail. The 5k is open to all abilities and ages.
