“Snow White,” Friday-Sunday, Ohio Star Theater, 1387 Old State Route 39, Sugarcreek. The “older” Snow White will be performed at 7 p.m. May 19-21. A sensory friendly show will be performed at 2 p.m. May 20. Tickets for the sensory friendly show may be bought at the door only, the day of the show, for $5 per person.

Maker Faire, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, University of Akron Wayne College. Maker Faire showcases the work of all kinds and ages of makers − anyone who is embracing the do-it-yourself (or do-it-together) spirit and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow the community.

Swiss Steak Dinner, 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Beach City American Legion Hall Post 549, 125, Third Ave. NE. Drive-thru carry-out only. Meal includes three bean salad, applesauce, mashed potatoes/homemade gravy, corn, bread and dessert for $12. The auxiliary will be pushing their poppies for Memorial day.

The Smithville Community Historical Society Artisan and Donor Appreciation Day will take place on 1:30- 4p.m. Sunday. The village artisans, blacksmith, weavers, and potter will be demonstrating their skills.

Smithville Artisan Day, 1:30-4 p.m., Sunday, Smithville Community Historical Society. Various artisans will be featured, live music and food. Buildings in the historic village will be open. The Mishler Weaving Mill will feature live demonstrations of rug weaving using the vintage looms dating back to the 1860s. Plants Gone Wild, 6 p.m. Thursday, May 25, Forbes Farmstead Market, 5614 McCurdy Road, Perrysville. Ashland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is planning a Plants Gone Wild Conservation Chat.

Music at the Arboretum, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, Secrest Arboretum, John Streeter Garden Amphitheater. Playing will be NEO5 Brass Quintet, made up of members from the Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Pops and the Akron and Canton symphonies. Creston area Memorial Day Services, Monday, May 29. American Legion Post 497 will present services at 9:30 a.m. at Burbank Village cemetery and at 11 a.m. at the Creston Village Memorial Day parade. The parade will begin at the former grade school on South Main Street and proceed to the Maple Mound Cemetery where services will be held.

Kingwood 5K Run and Walk, 9 a.m. Saturday, June 10, front of Kingwood Hall mansion in Mansfield. The chip-timed 5k will allow participants to enjoy a beautiful course within Kingwood’s gardens and along the B&O bike trail. The 5k is open to all abilities and ages.
