Area Happenings: Cat show at Wayne fairgrounds, fall festivals, plant ale

“Mirror Mirror," through Dec. 1, Sussel and Morgan Galleries of Ebert Art Center, 1220 Beall Ave., Wooster. College of Wooster Art Museum (CWAM) is displaying its fall exhibition showcases with work of 14 women artists and focusing on issues of identity as women, artists, mothers, wives, daughters and friends. The curator’s talk will be at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a dessert reception, and artist panels will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Both events will take place in the Ebert Art Center.

“An Evolution from Imagery to Entanglement,” through Oct. 29, The Coburn Gallery at Ashland University. It will showcase a painting exhibition featuring alumnus Jamie Lindholm, who works primarily with oils and charcoal. This event is free and open to the public.

Myths and Legends, 7 p.m., Thursday, Millersburg, American Legion Hall. This Holmes County Historical Society program will be revisiting the Salem Cemetery Headless Angel. The presenter is society president Mary Tipton co-author of Holmes Co. Hair Raisers book. Holmes County’s own professional Bigfoot hunter, Gordon Mullett, will also present. This is a free program for the public where everyone is welcome.

Wayne County Solar Tour, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, 8108 Private Road 340, Millersburg. The Wayne County Sustainable Energy Network organized a tour beginning in Holmes County and wending its way through Wayne County with two-hour windows at each stop. The tour will move from south to north ending in the vicinity of the Wayne County Farm Tour, which is the same day. There are five sites visitors can stop where owners will answer questions about their solar installations, electric vehicles, heating and cooling systems powered by solar or geothermal energy, costs, and tax incentives available through the Inflation Reduction Act.
