Area Happenings: Haunted House tours and trunk or treat

“Mirror Mirror," through Dec. 1, Sussel and Morgan Galleries of Ebert Art Center, 1220 Beall Ave., Wooster. College of Wooster Art Museum (CWAM) is displaying its fall exhibition showcases with work of 14 women artists and focusing on issues of identity as women, artists, mothers, wives, daughters and friends. The curator’s talk will be at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a dessert reception, and artist panels will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Both events will take place in the Ebert Art Center.

“An Evolution from Imagery to Entanglement,” through Oct. 29, The Coburn Gallery at Ashland University. It will showcase a painting exhibition featuring alumnus Jamie Lindholm, who works primarily with oils and charcoal. This event is free and open to the public.

An Evening with Cathi Campo, 7 p.m. Friday, Ashland University's John C. Myers Convocation Center (638 Jefferson St.). Campo will take the audience to the stage, as she sings selections from the songbook of musical theatre while accompanied by a jazz trio. Archaeology Day, 11 a.m.- 4 p.m., Saturday, Wayne County Historical Society, 46 E. Bowman St., Wooster. There will be a full schedule of events and plenty of activities for kids, including a dig box, or mock archaeological excavation. A food truck will be on site all day. The event is free and open to the public.

Zimmerman Haunted House Tours, 5-10 p.m., Saturday, 10095 Wadsworth Road, Marshallville; $10 suggested donation, kids 6 and under free. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the nonprofit association working to preserve the original 1883 roof. No tickets necessary. Event will be held rain or shine. No jump scares. This is a family filled event with historic themed hauntings.

Trunk or Treat, 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Church of the Cross UMC, 5100 Cleveland Road, Wooster. Light meal provided, popcorn, candy and fun activities.

Harvest Bash, 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 26, St. Mary’s School, 515 Beall Ave., Wooster. Harvest Bash welcomes people celebrating fall’s arrival and the importance of family bonding and connectedness. Ghost Walk Through History, 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28, Wayne County Historical Society, 546 E. Bowman St. Light refreshments will be served. Come hear the fascinating tales of eight distinguished spirits from Wayne County’s past. A limited number of tickets are available at $25 apiece and must be purchased in advance. Tickets may be purchased at the Wayne County Historical Society’s office, which is open Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m., or at Murr Printing, 201 N. Buckeye St. in Wooster. In addition to the historical society’s parking lot on Spink St., just north of Bowman, additional parking will be available for these events at the Discount Drug Mart and St. Mary’s Church lots. The Holmes County Historical Society is hosting self-guided ghost walks with paranormal committee and spirit guides available to provide historical and paranormal information surrounding the Victorian House. The Madrigal Feaste takes audiences back to “Merry Olde England," for an evening of fine singing, original comedy, award-winning dining and cherished traditions.
